You ever go to demonstrations but always end up awkward on the sidelines because you don't know anyone so you leave after 5 min and never ever go again?
For is an experiment in imagining up a community. For is for Palestine, Tigray, Ukraine, Myanmar, Georgia, the Uyghurs, etc.
For is founded on the idea that strength is built from soft things. A cup of tea, sharing a meal, knitting together, asking for directions.
It starts small. It remains small. It seeks only to introduce kindred to kindred and nothing more.
Its method will become clearer as we go along. It's all experimental. There is no certainty.
Caveat
tbh i have no idea how to do this because noise and crowd affect me very badly. and i have no headspace or energy for this. so. please text me if you wanna chip in, especially if you have a kitchen or an art studio. i got ideas 😉. otherwise, let's see how this pans out.

Big tech like Microsoft, Google, and Amazon support the genocide of Palestinians.
It's so difficult for us software engineers to find equally good alternatives for crucial things like devops.
I have no solution. In this session I would like for us to research and think about whether or not there are solutions, and if not, can we build our way out of this situation?
For instance, we want to know if the other platforms like Linode, Digital Ocean, Hetzner, GitLab, etc, are ok to use (Linode is apparently not ok). If they're not, then is it reasonable to attempt building a managed k8s service that uses EU-based VPS providers to make it easier for devs to BDS? Even if we do that, how can we sure EU-based providers aren't supporting genocide? Is it still a feasible strategy regardless?
No organisation is sponsoring or supporting this event. It's just me trying to do something and hoping people will join me.

If in person: usually few or nobody comes. So, because I don't want to make a wasted trip, please do not just register on meetup. If you are really, really coming, text me directly to tell me. Then we can figure out a venue. I will come out if at least one person wants to do this. Else I will be lazing comfortably at home, thank you very much.
