Nimitz Beach to Tracks Beach / Electric Beach / Kahe Pt. 8.5 miles. -
Aloha Paddlers!
Please be sure to check this web site and your email the evening before or morning of each outing as sometimes due to weather or surf conditions we may need to change or cancel our trips.
We'll be paddling from Nimitz Beach Park (at the end of Coral Sea Road, around Kalaeloa Point (Formerly Barber’s Point), past (and through) Paradise cove beach and over to Tracks Beach near Kahe Point. This 8.5 mile route features some great surf breaks with long rides along the route as well as some interesting protected channel paddling in the paradise cove area.
This paddle is suitable for beginners IF the wind and surf is within the normal range. So, ya might want to call the National Weather service at 973-4380 and press 3 for the surf forecast and 2 for the wind forecast, or, go to the surf News Network - http://www.surfnewsnetwork.com/ so you can make your decision based on the latest info and your comfort level with the prevailing conditions.
So, we’ll plan on meeting at Nimitz Beach Park by the runway for the old Barber’s Pt. air station at 8:00AM to off-load boats, and the shuttle will leave about 8:20 to move cars to the finish point at Electric Beach. This should put us in the water around 9:15 and finishing up the paddle between 12:00 and 2:00 PM.
If you don’t know this area well, I strongly suggest you get Nimitz Beach park located on your phone so that you don’t have a difficult time finding the right beach, which has happened in the past on this route. If you’re having a hard time locating the group on that morning, you’ll be able to reach me on the cell at 808-375-1030.
If the surf forecast says it'll be too big to do this route, we'll change it to another location the day before the paddle so be sure to check the club web site and your email the day before for any updates we may issue.
OK gang, this should be a fun paddle, so we’ll see ya there!!
*==== CHANGED YOUR MIND? ====

*==== KNOW YOUR LIMITS ====
Know your capabilities, limits, forecast conditions and check your equipment before you go. Sun Screen, hat and plenty of water are a must. Sun glasses, gloves and dry bag are a good idea. Check conditions at http://www.surfnewsnetwork.com/ or call the National Weather service at 808-973-4380 (#2 to get wind speeds and #3 for surf report). Knowing the latest forecast, you can decide (based upon individual abilities) whether to paddle, or stay home and clean the yard.
