Workshop: The Self as a Story – Jack Petranker

Details
## The Self as a Story
None of us is a self at birth. It’s a story we are taught as we grow up, a way of making sense of experience: “You are you, and you are separate from everything else.”
That sense of separation haunts us every day of our lives, leaving us feeling imperfect and incomplete. But we do not have to accept it. The key is to experience the self as a story, not as something real. When we do, we can recover intimacy with the world around us. We can be fully present.
This workshop is based on Full Presence Mindfulness, an approach which grows out of the teachings of the revered Tibetan lama Tarthang Tulku. It will introduce practices that lead into a different way of being present.
