Come explore beautiful Jefferson Forest in Richmond Hill, a biologically important and environmentally sensitive area on the Oak Ridges Moraine.
Its rolling hills, kettle depressions, and wetlands were shaped thousands of years ago by glaciers, creating the unique landscape we see today. 🌿
On this hike, we’ll explore some of the forest’s trails and discover beautiful natural areas, including parts of Jefferson Forest that are less commonly seen. 🥾
Distance: approximately 8–10 km
Speed: 4 to 4.5 km/ hour
🥾 What to bring
- Long pants and long sleeves are strongly recommended because of ticks
- Hiking shoes
- At least 2 litres of water
- Snacks
- Dress appropriately for the weather
- Tick repellent is recommended
