House on Mango Street and two essays
Details
We will discuss The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros, as well as two essays by the author, on Wed., Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. at Tuscan Hills, 110-60 Queens Blvd. RSVPs will open on Dec. 10 at 9 p.m.
The two essays are Only Daughter, https://chawkinsteaching.weebly.com/uploads/1/2/9/7/12977279/only_daughter.pdf
and Straw Into Gold: The Metamorphosis of the Everyday, https://www.btboces.org/Downloads/11_Straw%20Into%20Gold%20The%20Metamorphosis%20of%20the%20Everyday%20by%20Sandra%20Cisneros.pdf
Note: the questions at the end of "Straw Into Gold" will not be our discussion questions for the meeting.
Tuscan Hills is on the south side of Queens Blvd., between Ascan Ave. and 73rd Rd., just west of the 75th Ave. stop on the E train. (I believe the M train will also be going there in January, since MTA is supposed to switch F and M service on weekdays, but check before you go.) Several buses stop nearby as well.
