What we're about

What is a Forest Therapy Walk ? This is a slow walk in nature, usually 2 kms or less, that engages all our senses. Forest Therapy, sometimes known as "Forest Bathing" (Shinrin yoku) is a wellness practice with proven health benefits. Studies show that when we spend two hours in nature in a sequence of invitations such as those led by a certified Forest Therapy guide that there are measured health benefits such as an increased immune system (NK cells increase), lowered blood pressure, anxiety and depression are lessened, and overall well being increases.
Who would like this event: Persons interested in improving their overall well-being; persons who are interested in practicing mindfulness in a nature setting; persons who are desiring to build relationship with the natural world; persons who are seeking wellness practices to support their immune system, support their ability to foster attention and awareness, persons seeking to nurture their mind body connection.
NOTE: We will engage with nature but our purpose is not plant identification.
We will walk, but our purpose is not for hiking.
This activity takes place outdoors and requires that you dress for the weather.
