This Wednesday we’ll start with a question: what does the data actually tell us? We’ll explore how the Community Hedge Fund’s shared research and AI agents can turn an observation into a testable strategy improvement.
THE RESEARCH → EDGE → STRATEGY EXAMPLE
Imagine research suggests gold breakouts work better when volatility is expanding. We’ll take a basic breakout strategy, add a clearly defined volatility filter, and compare the original and revised versions using the same data and assumptions.
An illustrative before-and-after might show profit factor rising from 1.18 to 1.54 and maximum drawdown falling from 19.4% to 11.8%, while taking fewer trades. These numbers are hypothetical teaching examples, not findings or promised returns. The live test may support the idea—or show that it fails.
