About us
Forging Friendships is more than a social group — it’s a space designed to help adults reconnect with something many of us lost along the way: the ability to make meaningful new friendships.
When we were children, friendship happened naturally. We were surrounded by people our own age, navigating similar experiences at the same time. School, sport, neighbourhoods, and shared routines created endless opportunities to connect without even thinking about it.
As adults, life changes. We disperse into careers, relationships, responsibilities, different lifestyles, and different paths. Before we even begin forming connections, we first have to discover who people are, what they value, where they are in life, and whether our worlds align.
Forging Friendships exists to make that process easier, warmer, and more human.
Through relaxed social events — from coffees and walks to dinners, drinks, games, sport, and shared experiences — this group creates opportunities for genuine connection in a supportive environment. The host will help introduce people, guide conversations, and provide thoughtful prompts that encourage authentic dialogue, active listening, curiosity, and deeper connection beyond surface-level small talk.
This is not about forced networking or trying to impress people.
It’s about learning how to connect again.
How to feel seen.
How to listen.
How to share.
How to build friendships that feel real.
Whether you’re new to the area, rebuilding your social circle, navigating a life transition, or simply wanting deeper human connection, you are welcome here.
Because friendship isn’t something we were only meant to experience in childhood.
It’s something we can continue forging throughout our entire lives.
