Forgotten NJ: Dead Mall Photo Walk @ Hudson Mall

Details
By popular demand, our next dead mall meetup and photography walk is coming up fast!
Did you know NJ is the state with the most malls per square mile? As a group that appreciates the overlooked in NJ, we feel it’s our duty to show malls some extra love as their numbers slowly dwindle across the country. Malls were once some of America’s most beloved “third spaces,” or places outside home and work that created a sense of community. Let’s recreate the glory days of malls, if only for a few hours!
We're heading to the Hudson Mall in Jersey City on July 27th, a mall so overlooked it barely has an internet footprint (read one of the few articles written about it here.) With a significant amount of the stores closed and talk of its redevelopment happening since 2021, this may be one of your last chances to appreciate it and its distinctive and nostalgic architecture.
We’ll meet inside the front entrance of the mall at 10:30 AM soon after it opens, when it is hopefully empty. Around noon, you’re also welcome to join us at the Chuck E. Cheese’s attached to the mall for some pizza and an extra bit of nostalgia!
Space is limited to 10 people. By RSVPing, you are agreeing to the group guidelines/attendance policy on the group homepage.
