~~~How are you handling COVID Safety?~~~

~~~Does it cost money to play Amtgard?~~~
No! Amtgard is free to play! Anyone can walk up and start playing for zero cost. Over time, you will have to provide your own gear and garb, but the community can help you build your own at very low cost.
We do have optional members’ dues which help fund community activities, and will allow you to participate in community althings (electing local leadership and rules changes).
~~~How old do I have to be to play Amtgard?~~~
We allow people to participate starting at 14 years of age, though we require that minors are accompanied by a parent or guardian while they are attending park. Minors must have a parent or guardian complete the liability waiver before they play.
~~~Is there any paperwork I need to do before hand?~~~
All Amtgard players are required to complete a liability waiver before they are allowed to participate in combat activities.
Please complete the waiver at the link below. If you are over 18, we will ask to confirm your age with a photo ID.
If you are 14-17, your parent or guardian will need to sign the minor consent form and present it to us in person.
~~~What should I bring on my first day?~~~
On your first day, you should bring:
- A tight fitting cloth mask that covers your nose and mouth
- Comfortable clothing that you will be able to move in
- Comfortable athletic shoes (tennis shoes, running shoes, cleats, etc.)
- Enough water to stay hydrated through an afternoon
- A snack is always a good idea
- A photo ID and/or a signed waiver
- Proof of vaccination or a mask
- Sunscreen
~~~Can I wear a costume/renaissance festival attire/cosplay?~~~
YES! We love to see it! Wear any costumes or garb that you have. Just remember that if you plan to fight, your costume/garb will definitely get dirty.
~~~Is there anything I should not bring?~~~
We recommend that you leave any collectible or prop weapons at home. You will not be allowed to fight with weapons made of wood, metal, plastic, or basically anything other than foam. We have very specific guidelines for making our game as safe as possible; let us help you make your first weapons!
The same goes for bows and crossbows; let us help you build game-safe projectiles. Do not bring normal arrows or bolts.
