git! (A source control system)
Details
Do you create any kind of document[1] on your computer? If so, do you want to:
• Look at or go back to an old version.
• Share the document with other people.
• Allow others to contribute to the document.
• Back up the document to a remote system for safety.
If so, you can use a "source control" program to do this.
Come and learn about "git", a popular source control program, and "github", a popular website that allows you to share data using git.
This class is free and open to anyone. No materials are required. It's primarily a lecture-/class-style event, although we'll certainly stick around afterwards to answer any questions and/or give you practical help/advice.
[1] This document could be a computer program (most common), website, or even something you created in a word processor, a CAD tool, etc.; in general, any file you create on your computer.
