Come and get a first introduction to programming! I'll talk about what programming actually is and how to go about it. We'll write a few simple programs in the Python programming language. If there's interest, we can run further classes or free-form workshops to learn more topics, or get more practice writing programs.

This class is suitable for absolute beginners with no programming experience. The idea is to introduce programming itself.

We'll be using https://trinket.io/ as the progrmaming environment. It's an online version of Python that runs in your web browser. It'd be useful if you sign up for an account there before the class. You can sign in using Google, Clever or Edmodo, or create an account using just your name and email address. Any programs you write on that site (and in the class) will work fine in other Python environments; ask after the class for advice if you want to pursue this. Either bring your laptop to the class, or plan on signing in to trinket.io from one of FCCH's laptops.

Suggested age: 12+. However, you know your children better than me; if they're interested in the topic they'll probably benefit from the class. Please plan to attend the class with any children under 16.

This class is free and open to the public; just RSVP here.
