Who says cutting boards have to be rectangular?
In this hands on woodworking workshop, you'll design and create your very own one of a kind cutting board using a beautiful piece of solid walnut. Think playful shapes, funky curves, and unexpected handles! Choose from a variety of unique handle designs, then let your creativity take over as you decide the shape of your board.
Along the way, you'll get hands-on experience with woodworking tools and techniques, including:
Planing: Learn how to create a smooth, even surface.
Cutting & Shaping: Use a bandsaw or jigsaw to bring your design to life.
Sanding: Smooth and refine your board's edges and surfaces.
Finishing: Learn how to properly finish and care for a wooden cutting board using food-safe products.
No prior woodworking experience is necessary. Just bring your creativity and a willingness to try something new!
Led by Jamie McLaughlin, a woodworker passionate about making woodworking more accessible for everyone, this workshop is all about encouraging creativity, building confidence, and helping beginners discover the joy of making something with their own hands.
You'll leave with a handmade solid walnut cutting board that's as unique as you are. No experience necessary.
All materials and tools are provided. If you have your own safety glasses, hearing protection or dusk masks feel free to bring them. We have a dust collection system but dust masks will not be provided if you are sensitive.
