Fort Collins Musicians Open Jam is a friendly, low‑pressure space for people who want to play Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia Band music together and meet other local players, hosted in my small, cozy home‑studio basement.
This is a casual, non‑commercial meetup—no cover, no tuition, no donations, no sales of any kind. Just Deadheads getting together to play music and keep this songbook alive in Fort Collins.
All instruments, styles, and experience levels are welcome: guitars, keys, bass, drums/percussion, vocals, and more. If you know (or want to learn) Dead/JGB tunes, can follow basic chords or grooves, and are willing to listen, collaborate, and be respectful, you belong here.
We’ll focus on Dead and JGB songs with plenty of room to improvise in an intimate, basement‑studio setting. Guitars can be provided if you don’t have one. Bring your instrument if you have one, a positive attitude, and be ready to make music with new friends—or just hang out and listen.
Hosted by a longtime Dead/JGB guitarist who played in Denver‑area Dead projects and once had a memorable night gigging with Melvin Seals from JGB. Seasoned and a little rusty, but getting back into the music and looking forward to meeting other Deadhead musicians in Fort Collins.
