It’s here! Tickets are officially available for our 2nd FREE POW in the Park production, The Sound of Music, on swivel chairs! The hills are alive with the sound of music at Richardson Park in the heart of Wilton Manors and we are so excited about this show.
The Sound of Music at Richardson Park is going to be different because at Richardson Park we only have 100 available seats a night, and they’re swivel chairs that we provide. No need to bring your own chair this time. You will sit in a swivel chair and the show will take place all around you, all over the park.
The launch of POW in the Park was only made possible by our Founding Sponsor The Warten Foundation. They believed in our crazy dream so much they paid for the entire initial production with a check for $100,000! Norman Extract, an incredibly generous supporter of the arts, was so inspired by our inaugural production that he stepped up and donated $50,000 toward The Sound of Music. Russell Vance, Marty and Susanne Elleman, Mike Tinley, Marc Martorana, Rod Tiedt and the SHS Foundation have also come forward with incredibly generous support. So because of all these amazing people and foundations we are opening our second free show
FREE events have a high rate of no-shows. We understand things happen and at Mickel Park it didn't matter how many showed up or didn't because we had room for everyone every night. But the seating at Richardson Park is limited to 100 a night so we are begging you to only reserve a ticket if you are 100% sure you will use it. If your plans change please release it right away. We are also requiring ticket holders to RSVP within 24 hours of the performance and also to be in the park 20 minutes prior to showtime or the tickets will be given to people on a standby list. We want everyone who wants to see the show to see it and we don’t want empty seats. Based on the success of our first free show we assume tickets are going to go fast
Food and drink will be available to buy before the show. There are also plenty of great restaurants within walking distance of the park.
See you in the park!!!
