Main Gallery - Liquid Forest by Alexis Lago
Alexis’s work delves into the intersection of myth, symbolism, and humanity’s connection to nature, both tangible and imagined, using art as a spiritual and introspective search for meaning in a vast, mysterious universe. Blending materials such as acrylics, oils, watercolor, and ink, and grounded in artisanal, handcrafted methods, his practice reflects a deep reverence for tradition and process. Influenced by Far Eastern painting, Persian miniatures, medieval manuscripts, and select modern masters, Alexis creates imagery that balances restraint and depth. His Liquid Forest series meditates on the chaotic fluidity of contemporary life, seeking stillness and presence amid turbulence, and draws inspiration from his life on a peninsula to explore themes of insularity, reflection, and timeless discovery.
Foulds Theatre Gallery- Compositions by Julio Julio
Julio’s current practice begins with spontaneous, non-objective applications of color and gesture, allowing natural forms to emerge organically into landscapes, figures, or creatures. He intuitively builds and reworks his compositions, layering and revisiting elements to explore every possible aesthetic direction. Titles arise from the “monsters” or vistas he discovers within the work, offering viewers a glimpse into his perspective while inviting their own interpretations. Prioritizing play and curiosity over rigid intent, Julio approaches each piece as a joyful experiment, an open dialogue between artist and viewer centered on discovery and imagination.
Member Gallery- Put Together
Current Alliance members were invited to submit their collage-based works for a curated exhibition in the Member Gallery, celebrating the versatility and creativity of the medium. The show highlights traditional collage’s unique power to transform, reinterpret, and reimagine reality.
