As long as we hold on to hurt—whether from others or from our own mistakes—it becomes impossible to truly move forward. Clinging to past pain keeps us trapped in cycles of negative thoughts and behaviors, preventing the change we seek.
The key to letting go of feeling hurt is to stop identifying with the painful feelings. Instead of thinking ‘I am hurt, we can think, ‘Painful feelings are temporarily arising in my mind’.
Painful feelings will eventually subside, revealing the true nature of our mind which is clarity and peace. By identifying with this peace we can learn to look at unhappy feelings, seeing how they arise and cease, without being caught up in them. In this way, we can begin to experience true inner change and freedom
