Come enjoy the beautiful Dorba Trails at Cedar Hill State Park in Grand Prairie! The views are fantastic, showcasing the beautiful Joe Pool Lake along with gorgeous park greenery. Bring your dog(s) if you like. The entry fee is $7/day or $70/year for a pass. I plan to do the Medium Dorba Trail (8 miles) to make the hike worth the drive and entry fee, but feel free to turn back if you get tired or overheated. Make sure to bring some ice packs, ice rings, or a cooling towel, and at least 32 oz of water (I recommend a camel pack if you can afford one) to last you the whole trail. There are benches along the way if you need to sit and take a break. Keep in mind, there are no restrooms on the trail, so plan accordingly. Suggestions for bathroom needs include a trash bag, spade, toilet paper, a urine receptacle, or even the small $13 portable toilet from Academy (Don’t forget to pack hand sanitizer or soap chips for hygiene—they can really come in handy!"**). After the hike we can stay and do picnic lunches if you want or we can go to Jersey Mikes for sub sandwiches. Let me know if you will be staying to eat.
