Forward is a podcast and live show built around a simple but radical idea: that the conversation around a song matters as much as the song itself. That songwriters who have poured their pain, their grief, their identity into a lyric deserve more than applause and a quick move to the next song.
They deserve a real conversation.

About this event
This is our launch episode. A self-directed spoken premiere where Forward founder and Nashville-based songwriter CJ Monaghan introduces the show, the mission, and the vision for what comes next.
No guests. No performance. Just an honest conversation about why Forward exists, who it's for, and what it means to finally bring a mental health advocate into the room with the songwriter.
This is where it starts.

What Forward is
Every episode of Forward brings a singer-songwriter and a mental health advocate into the same room. Together they perform a song live, then go line by line through the lyrics asking what the songwriter was really saying, where it came from, and how they're doing now.
No clickbait. No exploitation. No performing pain for an audience. Just art, clinical awareness, and the most human conversation in music.
