Talk: Story of Data at Shopee

Anthony Ho from Shopee's Data Engineering team will be presenting on the technology stack, data products, and big data ecosystem they've designed and developed to serve on-demand insights, real-time business intelligence, and self-service analytics to over 8,000 staff throughout Southeast Asia. In this presentation, Anthony will present on the important role data engineering and big data infrastructure plays at Shopee, and share behind-the-scenes perspective on the business's rapidly increasing appetite for big data.

Panel Discussion: ***What Ecommerce Marketplaces are signalling about future of work and trade.***

Desciption: Probably two decades ago, when you wanted to start a boutique selling your designer clothes or art, distributors and marketers controlled your destiny and success. Today, that has totally shifted. Ecommerce Marketplaces has given wings to the ambitions where creators can sell their creations and create communities in democratic way. This is starting to hint on the evolution of new norm in way people work. Anyone with ability to create or sell can be a merchant in 3 seconds. What does this tell us about importance of these massive technology infrastructures and their indirect impact on future of work?
In this session we want to talk about trends and innovation that ecommerce players are experimenting that might have huge impact on gig economy.
