What we're about
Here at Bergen County Grief Counseling we are starting a group for adults who are currently working with the Division of Child Protection and Permanency as foster parents. We understand that although the role of a foster parent is immensely important and rewarding, it holds the potential to be an unfamiliar role for to adopt and may come with foreign stressors. Within this group we hope to provide a space where participants are able to communicate with other foster parents and share common experiences and build resourceful relationships.
This group will be facilitated by our agency’s licensed social worker, Madeline Salerno who will set a focus on working towards improvement of the fostering experience for these parents. Throughout these sessions we plant to create an atmosphere where all members are encouraged to share their own stories along with working together, with group members to address any additional thoughts or concerns.
This will be an open group for adults and will meet once per month. The fee for this group is $40 per participant and will require an RSVP in advance. This group will run with no less than three participants and no greater than six participants. Please feel free to contact us at your convenience with any questions or concerns that you may have. We look forward to working with you.
