What we’re about
The goal of this org is to build chosen family. We do that by hosting a variety of events (and we have a Discord coming as well to extend connection and community more out of local channels) and figured this would be a good medium for event information without needing social media.
Found Family Collective background:
Found Family Collective was founded in 2022 in response to the hostile political climate here in Florida and all over the country in regards to Trans and LGBT lives. We are a nonprofit grassroots organization, as of March 2023 (officially 501c3 as of 2024), and host free events for the Trans and LGBT Qmmunity. Some of our most well known events to date are the open mic and trivia nights, self defense classes, alt mothers and fathers days events, and the wellness fair. We are firm believers in Restorative Justice and we firmly reject carceral punishment.
We are always accepting donations bc it does cost us money to provide these events (and we’re all just basic queer and trans folks trying to make a change).
