Whether you're building a startup, freelancing, running a side hustle, starting a charity, or just doing something ambitious outside of conventional employment, this group is for you.
Being an entrepreneur or freelancer can be a lonely experience. You've got big decisions to make, have to keep the confidence of your clients and investors, and sometimes pretend everything is okay on LinkedIn when you're stressed out of your mind. This is a space where you don't have to do that.
The Founders & Freelancers Meetup is a monthly Meetup in London for people who are building something. It can be at any stage and in any sector. We're not just here to swap business cards. We're here to build useful relationships, honestly share our experiences, and support each other through the the ups-and-downs of working independently.
My own background includes co-founding PopUp Painting and The London Art Bar, and more recently building Gareth Lewis Marketing & Events. I know firsthand how this kind of work can feel equally exhilarating but also isolating.
Come as you are. Bring your wins, your questions, and your screw-ups. All welcome.

Join us for the first Founders & Freelancers Meetup: a relaxed evening at The London Art Bar for anyone building something outside of conventional employment.
Whether you're building a startup, freelancing, running a side hustle, starting a charity, or just doing something ambitious, this group is for you.
Being an entrepreneur or freelancer can be a lonely experience. You've got big decisions to make, have to keep the confidence of your clients and investors, and sometimes pretend everything is okay on LinkedIn when you're stressed out of your mind. This is a space where you don't have to do that.
The format is deliberately relaxed: come along, grab a drink, meet some interesting people. There'll be open networking, a business card bowl to make sure you leave with at least one new meaningful connection, and space for anyone who wants to share a current challenge or screw-up (entirely voluntary, but you might be surprised how useful it is).
This is the first event in what we plan to turn into a proper community. Help us shape what this becomes!
