What does an impactful conversation look like to you?

The conversations that have stayed with me most were never about destinations reached. They were about sitting with someone as they unfolded the story of their own becoming.

It was the way their voice would catch on certain words. The distant twinkle in their eyes grasping an emotion you could subtly feel. Could it be an awakened grief, an unexpected joy, or a regret too tender to name? Those unspoken things kept hidden behind closed doors.

Every time I walked away from one of those conversations, my heart was filled with gratitude. A feeling that grounded me in my humanity. Because I had been trusted with something irreplaceable — a piece of someone's inner world they chose, in that moment, to share with me.

That is the real gift of truly hearing one another.

Our stories belong to us alone. The only way they ever reach another soul is if we dare to tell them. And the only way they truly land — is if someone listens with their whole heart.
