Sewing Machine 101

Details

Learning to sew, requires a basic knowledge of how to use the home sewing machine which will be the focus of this meetup. During this 2-hour workshop I will cover all the basic functions of the machine including threading, winding bobbins, setting tension, specialty feet and lot's more! By the end of this workshop you will be able to confidently set up and operate the Brother cs6000i classroom machines which are available for use in the textile room upstairs.

A discussion on needles, thread and what to look for when purchasing your first sewing machine will also be covered.

If you have a sewing machine (still in the box) or one that you have questions about using, feel free to bring it along. Otherwise there is is no need to bring anything with you to this workshop other than something to take notes with.

This workshop will be run by Chris Dahl our sewing, quilting, cosplay & textile professional.

It will be held downstairs.
