Agenda:

  • 6:45–7:00 p.m. — Announcements & Introductions
  • 7:00–8:45 p.m. — Speaker Workshop
  • 8:45–9:00 p.m. — Wrap Up & Social Time

Presentation: Speaker Workshop
This workshop helps speakers from underrepresented groups prepare to speak at conferences. This will in turn help local meetups, Drupal Camps, and even DrupalCons develop a more diverse speaker roster. The workshop helps folks bust through their impostor syndrome and develop a topic, title, pitch, and outline.

The workshop covers:

  • Impostor syndrome
  • Finding a topic
  • Better speaker tips
  • Writing a great pitch
  • Creating an outline
  • Creating great slides
  • Public speaking confidence

This workshop is a great fit for you if you’ve ever felt uncomfortable about speaking at events or wanted to present but found yourself thinking:

  • “What would I talk about?”
  • “I’m not an expert in anything.”

About the speakers:
AmyJune Hineline is the Senior Community Manager at Opensource.com, a project supported by Red Hat. She is also a Drupal Core Mentor. With a dual focus on both open-source community development and inclusivity, she is uniquely positioned to help individuals become more comfortable and confident as they contribute to their communities.

Marjorie Freeman is the community manager for Enable Architect (redhat.com/architect). It is her job to help IT practitioners amplify their voices by publishing their professional technical work. She is a creative individual, who appreciates the power of effective communication when it comes to making informed business decisions.
