Biographies
> Sébastien Dubuis : After a master at EPFL and a PhD at ETH (on the analysis of large-scale biological data), Sébastien Dubuis joined a bank where he applied his skills in machine learning and data science to the field of transaction monitoring. In September 2018, he joined LeShop.ch. There he is applying diverse data mining techniques to marketing and logistics. Among other project, Sébastien applied existing statistical framework to try to gain a better understanding of customer lifetime at LeShop.
>Gaétan Hervé : Gaétan Hervé has been working on analytics and data science field for the last 15 years. At a time when this was still call business intelligence and data mining, he had the opportunity to leverage information in many industries (medical, insurance, jewellery, security,..) to drive performance and better insight on business. Today, he is heading a team at LeShop.ch where machine learning is increasingly used to better understand customer preference and tailored them a dedicated shopping experience. Facing challenges like working in an ever changing environment together with transforming the way of working using agile philosophy, his motivation comes from the way usage of machine learning can transform the way services are provided to customers and ease their daily life. He likes to share his passion through participation in events and coaching students at EPFL.
