The day-long celebration kicks off with a car parade hosted by the Austin Area Urban League and G.E.A.Y.A. at 10:00am. https://storage.googleapis.com/wzukusers/user-27042185/documents/36319eb973e84e7cbb08ea2fd2f2279f/CTJ%20-%20Parade%20Map%20(Chestnut%20Exit)%20-%202021.pdf

During lunchtime, the 10,000 Fearless First Responders will join the committee in distributing free plates to the communities most in need on the East side.

Six Square and CarverMuseumATX’s virtual program will start at 1:00pm with a panel discussion about the history and celebration of Juneteenth with speakers Dr. Lisa B. Thompson and Dr. Charles Daniel Carson of UT Austin’s African and African Studies department, moderated by Carre Adams, Chief Curator and Managing Director of the Carver Museum and Cultural Center.

The MC NOOK Turner will host the livestream that features artists from the Austin/Travis County area. The lineup includes: Anastasia and the Heroes, Stretch Musik Band, Buffalo Nichols, W.C. Clark, Riders Against the Storm, Mama Duke, Joshua Banbury, EimaraL Sol, Mélat, , and our very own BUXA leader, Crystal Paull!

There will also be a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses. All proceeds will benefit Six Square as they continue to tirelessly serve the African-American community in Austin.

During the evening the party keeps going at Rosewood Park with a live afterparty hosted by Jump On It and G.E.A.Y.A. The night will end with a fireworks show made possible by Black Leaders Collective.
