Title of Talk:
Real Time Analytics with Kafka and Druid

Abstract:
Apache Druid is a high performance, relatively time, distributed OLAP database. I am going to talk about origin story of Druid, and I will show in a live demo why Druid and Kafka are a match like peanut butter and jelly, for real time analytics.

Bio:
Hellmar has worked in the software industry for more than 20 years in various pre- and postsales roles. He has worked with large customers in the finance, telco and retail industries, including a full time position at ING Bank for 3 years. He lives near Munich, Germany, with his wife and four kids. In his free time, he likes to read, and to travel with his family.

Title:
Tiered Storage in Kafka 3.6

Abstract:
An early access version of tiered storage was added with Kafka 3.6. In the talk we look at the advantages of tiered storage, what problems it solves and how we configure it hand-on in Kafka.

Bio:
Thomas Iffland has been working at Thinkport since November 2022 and is part of the internal streaming team working on various streaming technologies, in particular Apache Kafka. Since the beginning, he has been working on a project in the financial sector where Apache Kafka, Kafka Connect and Kafka Streams form the backbone of modernizing a business-critical process when issuing new financial products. He also loves sharing his knowledge of Apache Kafka in workshops.
