🏞 hike & swim: Enjoying the hot summer Bavarian style around Aschaffenburg 🏝

We start in Aschaffenburg and see the large palace at the Main. We cross the river and continue until we reach Schönbusch park. This is one of the largest and oldest "English" parks in Germany with a great beer garden. We will have lunch break there with a cool beer or other beverages and live music. We hike to the Main and then through a forest until we reach Niedernberg. We continue to Honisch Beach, a sandy beach which offers a restaurant and kiosk. We stay there for about an 90 minutes for swimming or chilling. If you prefer, you can hike around the lakes. Then we hike back to Niedernberg.

We meet in Fra Hbf at 9:20 at the beginning of platform 7 for RE 54 departing at 9:30. A Deutschlandticket is recommended. Those who have an annual ticket for the RMV can buy an extension ticket to Aschaffenburg area. We are back in Frankfurt at 17:30.

The distance is ca. 14 km, flat. Most is in the shade (park/forest). Have a look at the route in the photos section. Bring enough to drink and lunch for the way with you.
