What we’re about

“A drinking club with a running problem"
The Hash House Harriers are an international group founded in 1938 with more than 70,000 active worldwide members. Our aim is to bring together locals and expats who want to socialize and have a bit of exercise at the same time. It's a great forum to meet new friends.

Members come in all shapes and sizes, races, ages and fitness levels. We cater for young and old, fast or slow, fit or 'not-so-fit'! The main prerequisites are a sense of humour, willingness to meet new people, open-mindedness, tolerance and a general sense of fun. We are mainly English-speaking but many of us are German or can speak German.

We meet every week of the year:
- September-April: on Sundays at 14:30
- May-August: Thursday evenings at 19:00
Attendance is usually 10-20 people. The start is usually from a parking lot, often near a train station or bus stop in the Greater Frankfurt area (Rhein-Main-area including Mainz, Wiesbaden, Taunus and Odenwald). Look for a group of people in colourful clothes.

After the run we drink beer (alcohol-free drinks available) and sing frivolous songs while praising or punishing fellow members for good or silly things they did during the run by giving them some more liquid to drink.

We are not scared away by few participants or bad weather. Do not feel discouraged if there are few registrations on Meetup. Our local club has existed since 1987, and most of our members check the start location on our website’s run list (https://frankfurt-hash.de). So there is no risk that you will come in vain.

The fee per run is 5 euros, your second run is free. The price includes all beverages during and after the run as well as some snacks.
