Rheinhessen is the ideal region for hiking and even more than that, it is made for pleasure hiking. The "Rheinhessen wine culture landscape experience" promises pure well-being with the combination of wine and hiking. This applies in particular to the four "Hiwweltouren" in the land of 1000 hills, as Rheinhessen is often called. Three of the circular tours run through Rheinhessen Switzerland, the fourth near Gau-Algesheim. All of the routes are classified as quality hiking trails by the German Hiking Institute.
Over long stretches, the "Hiwweltour Bismarck Tower" follows the route of the geo-ecological theme trail, which begins in Gau-Algesheim. The route is lined with vineyards and pastures, meadows and forests. There are magnificent panoramic views from many points - both into the Rhine Valley with the Taunus Mountains and across the Rhine-Hessian hills to the Palatinate, the Naheland and the heights of the Hunsrück. The best view is from the platform of the 31-metre-high Bismarck Tower. A special feature awaits hikers at its foot: seven adult Bengal tigers 🐯 feel at home in the zoo of the Waldeck mountain restaurant.
After the hike, we're heading to the red wine festival in Ober-Ingelheim (optional for anyone who wants to come).

== Meeting point / Ticket ==
At the train station in Frankfurt at track 1a (Frankfurt Hbf) at 10:20.
Our train RE14 starts from platform 1a at 10:38 (we change at Mainz Hauptbahnhof to RB33, platform 5b) and we arrive at Gau-Algesheim Bahnhof at 11:44. We take the train RB33 back at 16:17 from Gau-Algesheim Bahnhof platform 1 to Frankfurt Hbf (we change at Mainz Hauptbahnhof to RE14, platform 2a) and will be there at 17:23.
For most people sharing a "Gruppentageskarte" (Group ticket) will be the cheapest option (if you don't have a Deutschlandticket) to cover the costs for the transport. The ticket costs 43,90 € and is valid for up to 5 people. At the meeting point we will figure out the ticket situation and buy tickets according to our needs. Don't buy a "Gruppentageskarte" in advance. We will share the total costs of the Tickets needed by the number of people that want to have a spot on it. If you prefer to travel with an individual ticket, of course you can do that.
For people coming by car: We meet at 11:44 at Gau-Algesheim Bahnhof. Please be there in time!

== IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT "RSVP YES" AND "NO SHOW" ==
We have to put some simple rules in place to ease the planning and organizing of hikes and to allow more people to attend. Please don't RSVP YES to simply hold your spot on the event and then drop out at the last minute or simply not show up having decided to do something else that day. Doing so you are not letting other people attend the event, not attending yourself. Repeated history of NO SHOWS could lead you to be bumped to the waiting list or to be removed from the group. The RSVP time is usually closing 1-2 days before the event, in order for people on the waiting list to have time to prepare for attending. Out of respect for others please update your RSVP Status from YES to NO if you will not make it to participate, before the RSVP deadline. If you have to cancel your attendance after the RSVP time has closed, please send a message to the Organizers, so that people from the waiting list can jump in.
