### Baker Park Loop Walk & Social Stroll

Join us for a relaxed walk around the beautiful Baker Park loop in downtown Frederick! This is a casual, all-levels meetup — perfect for getting outside, meeting new people, and enjoying one of Frederick’s most scenic green spaces. We will discuss ideas for future Outdoor Adventures!

### Meeting Location

We’ll meet at the main entrance to Baker Park near Culler Lake, by the parking lot off N. Bentz Street (close to the band shell and lake area). Look for the group gathering near the lake walkway.
Please arrive 10 minutes early so we can start walking together.

### Walk Details

• Route: Baker Park perimeter loop
• Distance: Approximately 2.5 miles
• Difficulty: Easy — paved paths and mostly flat terrain
• Pace: Conversational and relaxed
• Estimated Time: About 60–75 minutes, depending on group pace

We’ll circle the park, walk around Culler Lake, and enjoy tree-lined paths, open green space, and views of the historic carillon tower.

After the loop, anyone interested can grab coffee or a snack nearby in downtown Frederick.
This meetup is great for beginners, new residents, or anyone looking for a low-key outdoor social outing. Hope to see you there!

Meet:
We’ll gather at the trail head parking lot on Gambrill Park Road in Gambrill State Park (the main parking area between Rock Run and High Knob). Look for the area marked for hiking trail access. Aim to arrive 10 minutes early so we can start the hike together.

### Hike Details – Green Ash Trail

• Distance: ~2.2 miles (loop) on the moderate Green Ash Trail.
• Difficulty: Moderate — expect some steep terrain and rocky sections. Good hiking shoes are recommended.
• Terrain: Forested mountain trail with changing elevation and minimal flat sections.
• Duration: Most groups finish in roughly 1 hour, depending on pace and breaks.

This loop starts and ends at the same trail head, so we’ll return to the parking area when we’re done.

### Park Admission – Honor Box

Entrance to Gambrill State Park requires a day-use fee per vehicle:

• $3 per vehicle for Maryland residents
• $5 per vehicle for out-of-state visitors

You’ll pay at the honor box at the trail head, High Knob, or Rock Run area when you arrive.
Tip: Bring small bills or change since these are self-service boxes.

### Lunch at Frederick Social (Optional)

After the hike, we’ll drive back into Frederick, MD (about a 10–15 minute drive from Gambrill) to enjoy lunch together at Frederick Social. It’s a relaxed spot with a variety of sandwiches, salads, and lunch favorites — perfect for refueling and socializing after the hike.
