Shamrock 5K Run – C&O Canal
Join us for a festive Shamrock 5K Run/Walk along the beautiful C&O Canal! Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day weekend with a fun, informal run surrounded by great company and scenic views.

Time: 9:00 AM (prompt start)
Location: C&O Canal Towpath – Noland’s Ferry
Address: Nolands Ferry Road, Tuscarora, MD 21790
Wear your favorite St. Patrick’s Day gear—green shirts, shamrocks, leprechaun hats, or anything festive!
We will start together promptly at 9:00 AM. This is an informal, self-timed 5K. Run or walk at your own pace—runners and walkers of all paces are welcome.
### Meeting Location
We will meet on the towpath opposite the restroom building at the Nolands Ferry parking area.
Please arrive with plenty of time to park, stretch, and be ready to start at 9:00 AM sharp.
### Course
- Flat C&O Canal towpath surface (crushed gravel/dirt)
- Informal out-and-back 5K route
- Self-timed

Option 2: Virtual Kelly Benefits Shamrock 5K
If you'd like to earn race swag and officially log a time, you can participate in the Virtual Kelly Benefits Shamrock 5K, connected to the St. Patrick’s Day race in Baltimore.
How the Virtual Race Works:
- Register for the virtual race and sign up for text or email notifications.
- Your race swag will be available at packet pickup locations or mailed to you at no additional cost (virtual packets begin mailing March 17).
- Run your race and submit your results via text, email, or the results page by March 15 at 11:59 PM (ET).
- Celebrate your accomplishment and share photos or selfies on social media!

### Good to Know
- Parking is available at the Nolands Ferry lot
- Restrooms are available at the trailhead
- This is a casual community run, not a formally supported race. Neither Frederick Outdoor Adventures not its organizer are affiliated in any way with the Kelly Benefits Shamrock 5K.
- Please bring your own water.
