Adventurous Hike w/ Off-Trail trekking @ Brown's Bridge
Details
A rare & unique treat via adventuring on this 3.7mile hard hike that traverses, at times, unstable & hilly terrain. Pace: 2mph. The trek parallels a dramatically drawn/ drained Patuxent River, beginning with a MUDFLAT MEANDER. Officially, this is the upstream terminus of the Rocky Gorge Reservoir, named for the currently exposed & eroded entities, as well as FRIVOLOUS FOOTPRINTS which are usually hidden due to higher water levels. After pausing at "BOILED GOOSE-POOP ROCK" (pictured) the hike then barely bushwhacks to a crumbling confluence in a creek. Latter of the circuit passes under a Pine-stand, skirting around a Farm before concluding over the "HEART- STOPPING HILL".
NOTES:
1. Trail Forecast= MAP | BOOTS advised; avoid traversing near the River! This Hike will only be conducted in favorable weather/ conditions.
2. GREAT birding observation opportunities.
3. Port-o-john/ thunderbox available (opposite parking lot).
4. Post-social @TBD
