What we’re about

This posting is an initial summary to gage interest before I do a serious detailed write up. Please join and contact if interested.

Love. Learn. Teach. Connect. Create. Collaborate. Explore.

This is the creation of a free (completely and entirely) community music creation, exploration and collaboration studio. It will be a "self-serve" operation or you can request to have me there as a teacher (guitar lessons etc), guide, studio engineer, collaborator, inspirer, jammer and/or general support system.

This studio is intended to help people use music creation and collaboration as a therapeutic, rehabilitative and/or spiritual resource. This means that I will not be encouraging or discussing music creation as a career. I believe strongly that such a mindset is often toxic and destructive to a person being able to find and maintain a real genuine connection to music creation.

The idea of "fame and fortune" with starting a music career or "creating a hit song" are mindsets that I've run into a lot while trying to help people connect with music. In all cases, it held the person back from truly being able to connect and explore the beautiful and amazing "tonal realm" of music creation. It has been enough of an issue that I now need to be upfront about it. So for me, this is a boundary. If you wish to pursue music as a career, that is great, but your mindset here should be about learning, exploring and connecting. What you do outside of this resource is up to you.

Lastly, if you connect with this concept and this summary, I do need much help taking this project from a meetup group to a non-profit community offering in the US and worldwide. I have been carrying this project for nearly 10 years and there is a fully detailed, multi-pronged operation behind this general summary. I will be bringing it to life in the next couple years. I need help in the following areas:

web design and development, coding, etc.
non-profit business management, marketing and general expertise
music teachers and guides
music therapists
fundraising, event planning, and accounting
anyone passionate about music and community
