This is where we organize games. The meetup is for more public facing events.
Starting a new space to greet new players who are looking for campaigns, games, and friendship. All online and digital! This is a space primarily to set up future meetings and campaigns and will be used to hopefully get people together and playing WITHOUT PAID DMs!
If you like: roleplay, adventure, DND (mostly 5e), fun with friend, and good times, then this may be for you! If you are a roleplayer, larper, nerd, or even a theater kid, this is probably for you.
I am mostly setting this up to set up future DND games with medium-sized groups with compatible players. THIS IS NOT A GAME. This is where you look for games more easily. I personally and looking for a group here, but want to help you find a game yourself (not necessarily with me).
Upcoming events (1)
See all- Free Intro to DnD - A Monthly Workshop for New Players (Saturday, Aug. 9)Seward Park Library, New York, NY
How do I create a character? What are the rules of combat, and how does exploration and role-play work? What do I need to bring when I show up to a table? What is the role of the DM vs. the role of the player? How do Ability Scores work? What ARE Ability Scores? For that matter, what is D&D??
If you've been asking yourself any of these questions, then sign up for our Intro to D&D Newbie Workshop, where our team of experienced GMs (game masters) will walk you through the rules of the 5.5th Edition of Dungeons & Dragons. We will help you create your first character, run you through a quick game session to get the hang of things.
We alternate the workshop's location each month between the Seward Park branch of the New York Public Library and the Crown Heights branch of the Brooklyn Public Library (though sometimes with a different location). Our workshops are almost always scheduled on the second Saturday of the month from noon to 4pm, so if you can't make it you can come to the next one!
During the workshop, we will teach you how to fill out a D&D character sheet manually using an official character sheet, which you can download here: https://media.dndbeyond.com/compendium-images/phb/downloads/DnD_2024_Character-Sheet.pdf
We also suggest bringing a device that can connect to WiFi so that you can make a free character using the website D&D Beyond: https://www.dndbeyond.com/
D&D Beyond auto-populates a lot of character information and is quicker to use than pen-and-paper, especially for beginner adventurers.
What to bring:
- a set of polyhedral D&D dice (we will have extras if needed)
- a pencil and eraser
- a character sheet (printed) or a way to access dndbeyond.com (laptop, phone + charger, etc.)
THIS IS EVENT IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
We also run a Discord server to organize in-person D&D games in New York City - this is where you can go to find games to join once you've learned how to play:
