FREE - SUMMER HIKE - Frensham Great and Little Ponds Circular & Swim ?!

Summer is here and it will be a shame not to enjoy a nice swim after a walk. This is going to be an approx., 15 to 18 km walk with an option to swim and / or relax in the end at the Frensham Great Pond. The closest station is Haslemere Railway Station and bus 19 will take you to Frensham Great Pond. As always, I am happy to pick up some of you at the train station if you message me and agree well in advance.

The meeting point is at the Great Pond Main car park (GU10 2QB - Postcode is for a wide area so plan well). Cafe/toilets at both the start and north end of Little Pond.

This is a loop around both Great and Little ponds at Frensham. We will be walking while having some nice views, some wildlife around, and in sandy areas. Frensham Great Pond is very popular in nice weather. It covers roughly 1,000 acres (400 hectares) of attractive countryside. It is going to be an easy walk. You may even bring your dog if you want but make sure it is friendly or use a lead. Dogs are not allowed to swim in the water. Swimming for people is only in a designated area at Frensham Great Pond. Frensham Little Pond is a designated SSSI nature reserve and dogs are only allowed on a lead on the heathland to protect the ground nesting birds.

The walk is completely free. You need good shoes, a packed lunch, and a good spirit. Don't forget your swimming suit and towel.

You are responsible for your own safety and for making sure that your actions don’t damage the people, animals, or environment around you. This is wholly a voluntary activity. No service/risk is inferred or accepted.

Those who are continuously ‘No show’ for 2 or more times and have never been to my walks / hikes before will be removed from the group.

At the end of the walk and after some swimming, we can go to a pub around for a pint.
