FREE HIKE - Hills & Thrills : Leatherhead (via Denbies) Circular Hike !

Details

### šŸ“ Meeting Point: Outside Leatherhead Train Station (because all great adventures start at a train station)

šŸ•˜ Start Time: 11am
šŸŽÆ Distance: Approx., 15 miles
šŸ“ˆ Elevation Gain: Hilly – nothing too crazy, but your legs might file a complaint
🄾 Difficulty: Moderate – If you can handle life’s unexpected twists and turns, you can handle these hills—just with a bit more sweating and fewer plot twists!

### šŸ’˜ About the Hike

Welcome to Leatherhead, a town with more history than your last situationship. Did you know Michael Caine spent part of his youth here? So if the hills get tough, just imagine him saying, "You're only supposed to walk the bloody trail!"—a little motivation to keep you going.
Or perhaps you fancy yourself a bit of a literary type? C.S. Lewis once called this place home, so who knows—maybe there’s a hidden Narnia portal waiting to be discovered. And then there’s the mystery girl—still woven into Leatherhead’s story—who left behind whispers of adventure, curiosity, and… well, the rest is for you to uncover.
Our journey begins at Leatherhead Station, leading us through the grand landscapes of Polesden Lacey, up onto the North Downs Way, and across the peaceful woodlands of Ranmore Common. From there, we’ll descend through Denbies Wine Estate (sadly, no tastings mid-hike) and follow the Mole Valley Way back to Leatherhead. Expect a mix of forest trails, open countryside, and just enough hills to make you feel like you’ve truly earned your snack breaks.
There might be a surprise twist to the route. Stay curious, stay excited, and we’ll see where the trail takes us!
But let’s be honest—there are hills. Enough to make you momentarily question your life choices, but not enough to ruin your day. We’ll take them at a steady pace, pausing for scenic views and the occasional deep discussion—perhaps about the meaning of life, the best hiking snacks, or whether random trail encounters count as fate.

And if all those miles leave you in need of some well-earned refreshment, we’ll finish right near a pub by the station—the perfect spot to raise a glass, swap hiking stories, and toast to another great adventure. šŸ»šŸ„¾

### What to Bring?

  • Proper hiking boots – Impractical footwear will only lead to blisters.
  • At least 2L of water – Hydration is attractive.
  • A packed lunch and snacks – Sharing food might just earn you a lifelong hiking buddy—or at the very least, a grateful smile and fewer side-eye glances on the uphill climbs.
  • Weather-appropriate clothing – Because the British weather likes to keep things interesting.
  • Waterproofs – Just in case Mother Nature decides to test our resilience.

### Important Information:

  • Stay Together: Please stay with or behind the hike leader to maintain group pace and cohesion.
  • Safety Reminder: This is a voluntary activity. Participants are responsible for their own safety and for respecting fellow walkers, wildlife, and the environment. No risk or liability is inferred or accepted by the organizer.
