### ๐Ÿ“ Overview

Join us for a scenic up to 15 km circular hike through the Surrey Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This route offers a rich mix of landscapes โ€” peaceful riverside paths, historic woodlands, rolling chalk downs, and vineyard views.

Weโ€™ll start from Leatherhead, following the River Mole through Mole Gap, cross into the picturesque hamlet of Westhumble, and loop across the open hills of Norbury Park. Expect sweeping countryside views, ancient woodlands, and plenty of fresh air.

***

### ๐ŸŒŸ Highlights

  • Riverside walking along the River Mole.
  • Pass by Druids Grove, with its ancient yew trees.
  • Open landscapes of Norbury Park with stunning views of the Downs.
  • A glimpse of the Denbies Wine Estate, one of Englandโ€™s largest vineyards.

***

### ๐Ÿฅช Break

Weโ€™ll aim to finish before lunch, but bring a small snack to enjoy mid-hike.

***

### ๐Ÿฅพ Difficulty

  • Distance: ~up to 15 km
  • Difficulty: ~Moderate โ€“ generally good paths, some uneven woodland and chalky trails.

This hike is suitable for most fitness levels, but be prepared for a steady pace (medium to mediumโ€“fast). I always give breaks, wait for people to catch up, and make sure no one is left behind, so don't worry.

***

### ๐Ÿ“Œ What to Bring

  • Comfortable hiking shoes with good grip.
  • Water and light snacks.
  • Weather-appropriate clothing (layers + waterproof if rain is forecast).
  • A positive spirit โ€” and donโ€™t forget your best smile ๐Ÿ˜Š

***

### ๐Ÿš† Travel

Leatherhead is easily accessible by train from London (about 45 min from London Waterloo or Victoria).

***

### ๐Ÿป Post-Hike Social

Optional stop at a pub near Leatherhead station for a social drink and maybe a nice lunch, depending on what's on the menu.
