☀️ Malaga Getaway: A Winter Sun City Break
Details
🗓 Dates: Saturday 20th December – Saturday 27th December 2025
📍 From: London ✈️ To: Málaga
While most people are wrapping up for winter, we’ll be chasing a bit of Spanish sunshine. Málaga isn’t just a beach city — it’s full of history, culture, colourful streets, and a warm Mediterranean vibe that’s perfect for an easy-going Christmas escape.
### 🌴 Trip
This is a laid-back winter break, not a planned itinerary. No rush, no pressure — just a relaxed week exploring at our own pace. Think long coastal walks, tapas bars, historic corners, optional day trips, and plenty of time to unwind.
### 🎄 Christmas in Málaga
Christmas in Málaga is truly magical. Instead of grey winter skies, you get mild Mediterranean weather, long sunny afternoons, and a festive atmosphere that transforms the entire city. The highlight is the famous Christmas lights on Calle Larios — one of the most spectacular displays in Europe — with nightly light shows that draw visitors from around the world.
The old town fills with nativity scenes (belenes), Christmas markets, chestnut stalls, and musicians playing in the streets. The port area, Muelle Uno, glows with colourful decorations and makes a perfect spot for an evening walk by the sea.
You still get the full Christmas vibe, but with palm trees, tapas, rooftop terraces, and ocean views. It’s a cosy, joyful atmosphere — festive without being cold or chaotic — and ideal for a relaxed holiday break.
### 🥾 Expect
• Wandering Málaga’s old town, cathedral, Alcazaba fortress, and port.
• Optional day trips — Caminito del Rey, Ronda, Marbella, or Malaga’s beaches.
• Evenings hopping between tapas bars, rooftop terraces, and Christmas lights on Calle Larios.
• Slow mornings, sea views, and the freedom to do what you feel like each day.
### 🧳 Practical Notes
• Book your own flights:
London → Malaga (20th Dec) | Malaga → London (27th Dec).
• Accommodation: Everyone books their own — aim for Málaga city centre or the port area. I will be staying around 11 Distrito Centro.
• Getting around: Local buses, trains, or taxis depending on the day’s plans.
• Costs: As always, this is a free event, you just cover your own flights, accommodation, food, and any other costs. If you need any guidance on flights or accommodation, then send me a WhatsApp message.
