Death Café (Monthly Open Heart conversations)

Details

When you talk about death, you talk about LIFE

‘I’m not afraid of death, I just don’t want to be there when it happens.’ This quote very aptly quipped by Woody Allen drives the nail directly in our heads. We are incredibly fearful of talking about death though it is the only thing we are absolutely certain of unlike other things in life.
‘Death Cafes’ are part of a global movement to bring a small group of people together ‘to increase awareness of death with the view to helping people make most of their finite lives’. A confidential, non judgemental and compassionate environment is provided for anyone who is comfortable sharing feelings related to death, dying and how it relates to our lives. It is NOT a Grief or Bereavement group. You are welcome to converse in English/Hindi/Gujarati.
Host: Roma has been a volunteer with Heart House Hospice for over 6 years. She offers bereavement and spiritual support to palliative individuals and assists children who may be experiencing grief. She has a Certificate in Grief and Bereavement from Sick Kids Hospital, Toronto and offers Aromatherapy, Reiki Healing and Therapeutic Touch.
