With Sahaja Yoga Meditation we normally sit on chairs to achieve yoga, effortlessly & spontaneously. So there is no need for mats and no special clothing required.
We are all volunteers of a Charity organisation and have many years of experience in offering free Sahaja Yoga Meditation classes. The classes are designed to help those attending get into a genuine meditative state, which can be felt tangibly. It is quite effortless and spontaneous.
The free classes feature introductory talks, video's, practical workshops and general question and answer opportunities, making them perfect for seekers trying to establish a state of yoga, and they are available across London most evenings and throughout the UK.
The idea is that you don't do yoga - you Achieve Yoga!
Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a simple, time-honored technique. It helps those who enjoy it, reduce stress and increase wellness. It brings better focus and helps people become more centered and better balanced. Anyone can do it.
Founded by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a world wide movement for peace and self awakening. All the meetings and classes are free of any charge.
Each week we go through simple meditation techniques, often with guided meditations to help reduce stress and achieve the peace of true meditation. We share tips on how to help stay in balance during the day and how to meditate at home.
The meditation is based on connecting with the inner chakras (energy centres) and balancing the subtle body. The tradition and aims of meditation are explained which in essence is to be in the present with no mental activity or thoughts about the past or the future.
Occasionally there are 1 day retreats to help those interested, deepen their individual experience and hear advice and tips from those who have been practicing for some time. It’s ultimately all about getting into ‘thoughtless awareness’, a natural state of being.

Inner pure desire can help in the process of awakening the Kundalini energy within and transport us into spontaneous yoga, meditation, silence & joy. This potentiality resides in every person, we simply have to desire its awakening & learn how to do it. Inner Transformation Once the indwelling kundalini is awakened, we get to experience our own Self Realisation otherwise known as Yoga and can then also truly enter into meditation. When we achieve Yoga and this connection establishes - our subtle system is nourished and that awakening allows us to enter into the meditative state known as 'thoughtless awareness'. Here the mental engine switches off and rests, our thoughts desist and recede and we can enjoy the fruits of not being bombarded with thoughts for a while. Imagine that! It could be said that one of the main benefits of not thinking for a while is that the overused and overheated pathways in the brain get to take a holiday from being relentlessly engaged in processing these constantly arising impulses know as thoughts. Once these thoughts arise, the brain automatically functions and goes to work perceiving & formulating 'understandings'. Once the activity of thought generation is removed from the in-tray, the brain can get busy on perceiving, what remains in the absence of thoughts, which is ..... wait for it.....yes, you guessed it .... reality. This awareness of reality, undisturbed by thoughts arising, is know as Nirvichara Samadhi - or in English language, 'thoughtless awareness'. In this state the experience is described as being Sat-chit-ananda – or in English language Truth, Consciousness, Bliss. The term, which attempts to describe the nature of reality, or Absolute Reality, has been coined by those who through history have described the experience, in realizing the unity and wholeness of all existence. This outcome in personal development, inner transformation and spiritual ascent is know as yoga. Yoga means union or connection. Luckily the experience is both free & spontaneous and as mentioned earlier only requires our personal pure desire to ‘have it’ for it to begin working out and actualising.4 attendees
