This Meetup Channel is established to provide exclusive information about sailing and for water sports fans who live and work in Yangtze River Delta area（Including Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui）, especially for those who love sailing but cannot find the right place to go. Free online sailing lecture will be provided if you have zero foundation on sailing. There also will be held sailing salons, training courses, sailing tours, sailing fun-day events, catamaran parties and sailing races etc.
1. About Sail Global
Sail Global is a professional sailing services agency that is established by the Austrian global navigation expert Christian and the co-founder Jane Ran in year 2019. As the securest way to go on vacation in post-pandemic era, the target of Sail Global is to promote sailing cruise lifestyle among the consumers in China and provide them with high quality of sailing services including domestic and overseas sailing cruise, sailing training course and events. Sail Global has its teams over Mediterranean Sea, Caribbean Sea, Indian Ocean, Australia and Southeast Asia. There are more than 700 destinations in around 100 countries that tourist can explore through Sail Global’s sailing exclusively designed courses. ASA Training Programs
Sail Global provides customized ASA101-105 sailing courses for all ages including children, teenagers and adults. Proficient instructors and thoughtful service team would help a beginner grow from zero to hero. Sail Global is still the only one that offers sailing courses both in English and in German, which is quite friendly for those foreigners living in China.
Domestic Sailing Events
Customers can enjoy sailing tours all over China, starting from 1 day up to overnight cruises for several days. Additionally we offer team building activities, ceremonies, anniversaries，social-networking events related to sailing in one of our Sail Global domestic bases in Suzhou，Shenzhen，Sanya and Xiamen.
Overseas immersive cruising
Sail Global provides full services of sailing cruises (sailing travel vacation) including boat, captain and chef. And also, long-term boat chartering, sailing courses/training and consultancy services on boat investment.
3. Sail Global Suzhou Base
Sail Global Suzhou base is on the east side of Taihu Lake that is well known as the Eco Resort of Jiangsu. It consists of the views of mountains and lake. Three main zones of the resort are the square beside the lake, central park and ecological zone. There are various types of boats available such as J80´s，Luxury 54 feet Catamaran，Kayak´s and SUP´s for water sports fans and an open green land for family or group activities such as barbecue, photography and so on. There are also bicycle tracks, platforms extending into the lake and entertainment space. It just takes one and half hours to drive from Shanghai to there. From down town area of Suzhou it only takes half an hour.
4. The ASA instructor
The instructor Chris is a navigation expert. Before he devoted into sailing, he was working as a Managing Director for an international company in Shanghai. He started with sailing more than 35 years ago and since that time sailing is his passion. He also has rich experience (+20 years), of global sailing cruising across Mediterranean Sea, Caribbean Sea, Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean and Asia.
5. ASA Certificates System
American Sailing Association (ASA for short), introduced certifications to the United States 37 years ago. Today, with 350+ sailing schools and 536,000 ASA-certified sailors, ASA represents the largest trusted network of sailing schools. By establishing national standards for sailing education, the ASA has provided a way for more people to take part in the sport safely. There are different levels of its certificates:
ASA101：Basic Keel Boat;
ASA103：Basic Coastal Cruising;
ASA104：Bareboat Cruising (qualify to charter a sailboats) ;
ASA105：Coastal Navigation.
Whether your goal is to skipper a bareboat charter in the Caribbean or to crew confidently on a short weekend sail, the ASA’s sailing-education system will guide you as you learn the theory behind sailing, practice the skills needed to handle a sailboat, and build the foundation of knowledge that will enable you to navigate a vessel safely and within the law.
