Mentor Night: Virtual Meetup

Tech Hill Commons

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are following local and federal advice and meeting virtually instead of physically until further notice. # Virtual Event Location Instructions You can find us on discord at https://discord.gg/gugduRM - you must have a discord account to join. ## Tonight's Schedule 6:00 - 6:30 is used to filter in, network and get to know each other. At 6:30 we'll start with Intros and the Weekly Update. Following that we will have Mentoring. Come with your questions about tech, design and career within the tech industry. We'll do our best to answer them and/or point you in the right direction. On occasion we will have a Lightning Talk. These are not currently actively sought after due to the difficulty of arranging the speaker, the host, the equipment and so forth. BUT when we do have them, I'll do my best to update you the week before in Discord. Lastly, we may play games. It depends on how tired the organizers are but we usually try to do them. So stay until the end cause fun will happen. # About Mentor Night Mentor Night is all about learning, improving, building, and working together. You can be a developer, project manager, digital marketer, ux researcher, graphic designer or any tech related career field. You can be someone who is looking to get into the tech industry, someone who has been in it for eons, or anyone in between. You can be a student, a mentor, or a small business. **All we ask** is that you come to contribute. This is a no-sell networking and mentoring group. We don't sell, buy, trade, recruit, or pitch products or services to each other. We're simply here to learn. What you might need: - A focus: what are your goals associated with the tech industry? Is it to explore a new app idea, learn a new skill, teach a skill or something else. - Laptops are helpful: we encourage green learning so bring it to take notes at the very least - For designers: certain software and tools to complete design challenges (examples: pencil and paper, Adobe CC, etc) Looking forward to having you! Want to contribute? Ask Laura about sponsoring and donating to make this meetup successful.
