What we’re about

We love freediving! We mostly do shore dives off the southeastern coast of Florida, from Palm Beach County to Broward--and occasionally the Keys. There are numerous reefs and wrecks close to shore, especially off the beaches of Ft. Lauderdale. The water depth of these sites varies from 10 to 50 feet.

Freediving is ultimately about relaxing in the water, so our excursions are not necessarily strenuous for healthy people who are in good aerobic shape. To attend our meetups be capable of a lengthy swim in deep water. When it comes to swimming beneath the surface, you should at least be able to dive down to a ten-foot depth.

Do we provide instruction? No, not formally. Some of our members are certified freedivers, and they may have some helpful tips to share, but that's all.

Your own high-quality mask, a snorkel, and fins are a must. Please test this equipment before coming out to see us. A leaky mask and snorkel can ruin what would otherwise be a dazzling excursion into the habitats of our local reefs and wreck sites. If you do not show up with this equipment, I will cancel the entire event just to keep you from entering the water with us. Be warned.

Safety? The most dangerous form of ocean life consists of motorboaters. Stay near a dive flag. For depths of 30 feet and more, we encourage using a buddy-system. But still, you attend these meetups at your own risk.
