Have you ever pondered, dear seeker, what the Scriptures truly mean when they urge us to "hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering" (Hebrews 10:23)? Is it not a call to anchor our souls in the unchanging truth of Christ's finished work on the cross, much like the apostle Paul reminds us in Romans 10:9-10 that confessing Jesus as Lord with our mouths leads to salvation, while believing in our hearts justifies us before God? And yet, does this confession stop at salvation, or does it extend, as Ephesians 1:3 suggests, to embracing every spiritual blessing we possess in Christ—perfecting and sanctifying us for growth in His likeness?
Consider how confessing our sins brings initial salvation (1 John 1:9), confessing Christ as Lord seals our eternal redemption (Philippians 2:11), and continually confessing the victory of the cross accelerates our spiritual maturity, aligning us with God's divine plan (2 Corinthians 5:17). Is this not more than mere positive words, but a Holy Spirit-inspired declaration of who we are (new creations), what we have (His life and blessings), and what we can do (all things through Him who strengthens us, Philippians 4:13)? By holding fast to these truths, do we not build a firm foundation for ministry and fellowship, as the early church did in Acts 2:42, gathering in unity to break bread and share in doctrine?
In light of these biblical principles, what if you joined us this Sunday to explore and discuss them together? We invite you to our in-person service and fellowship at the Manalapan Senior Center, 211 County Rd 522, Manalapan Township, New Jersey (next to the Manalapan Recycle Center), on August 31, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. The format will blend a sermon on the topic "Hold Fast Your Confession" with interactive discussion, time of sharing, and fellowship—encouraging us all to agree with the finished works of the cross for deeper growth and sanctification. You are also warmly welcomed to participate remotely via Zoom. Simply click the link to join our Zoom Meeting Podcast, or use Meeting ID: 856 8178 1850 and Passcode: 041731. Might this gathering not provoke you to reflect: How does confessing these truths transform your walk with Christ today? We look forward to seeking answers alongside you.
