**Finished Work of the Cross – Romans 6 (Part 2) Summary**
Christ’s death and resurrection, the "Finished Work of the Cross," establish the New Covenant of Grace, freeing believers from sin and granting eternal life (John 19:30, Hebrews 10:14). The devil deceives Christians into working for what they already have in Christ, undermining faith in grace (Matt 4:1-11, Proverbs 23:7a). Romans 6:15-23 highlights three truths:
1. **Freed from Sin, Enslaved to God**: Believers are no longer slaves to sin but to God, living in righteousness (Romans 6:18, 22a).
2. **Presenting Ourselves to God**: Offering ourselves to God fosters spiritual growth and sanctification, aligning with Christ’s image (Romans 6:16, 19, 22).
3. **Eternal Life in Christ**: Eternal life is a present gift through faith, not earned by works (Romans 6:23).
Paul refutes the deception that law is needed to overcome sin, emphasizing grace as the source of victory (Romans 6:15). The Ephesian Church’s fall from grace to law illustrates the devil’s tactic to render believers powerless (1 Timothy 1:8-9a, Revelation 2:4-5). Believers must rest in grace, not law, to live fruitfully.
