What we’re about
Going freelance is pretty depressing. I was told by my university tutors that it's inherently a 'lonely lifestyle' ...why should this be true?
This group is a cafe meet-up and work session for freshly-gone-freelancers (less than 5 years experience) to combat the loneliness epidemic. The purpose is to work of course, but more importantly meet new people in a similar place in life, chat, network (within reason), and find more fulfilment in this lifestyle. Designers, artists, developers, writers, anyone creative - you are welcome!
Hosted weekly at a rotating selection of spacious cafes throughout the Northern Quarter and South Manchester – TBA.
Things this group IS:
- A space for creatives
- A casual space to meet friends, hang out, and work
- A space for discussion of ideas and advice: we all want to grow!
- A LGBTQIA+ friendly space
Things this group is NOT:
- A space for bigotry, hate-speech, or far right agenda
- A space for big tech advocates, technocrats, or furthering of AI / antihuman tech
- A space for non-creatives (sorry)
- A space for entrepreneurs to pedal / push products verbally
- A placeholder 'team' for your personal business - everyone has their own work to do!
