Sunday Freethinkers Zoom session, 9:30 am, open conversational discusson

Details
We start our meetings at 9:30, but the full group doesn't assemble until 10am. And many of us “check out” without announcement after around 11 am, but some often hang around until noon. Sometimes even 1 or 2 pm on the more powerful days. This event has occurred every Sunday since about 2017, and will continue.
We usually have 5 to 15 people, most over 50, but often some younger. Most are white-ish, many are not. Most are rational, open minded folks. Some are still learning those important practices.
The group was created by a Springs community group called Freethinkers of Colorado Springs. That group's goal is encouraging dialogue between people of different religious and social persuasion.
At our meeting on June 8, 2025, one of our ladies talked about a panel discussion at UCCS featuring Cornel West ( philosopher, political activist, politician, social critic of Harvard) and journalist David Brooks. Her stories made many of us regret not learning about the event and attending.
We talked about discomfort expressed by some folks about having “different “ people move in next to them.
We talked about a Jazz musician, Daniel Davis who joined a KKK chapter to try to understand why they were hostile toward his race.
We had a discussion about public transportation versus private automobile ownership. And who that pattern might change in the future.
Lots of other ideas were discussed.
Our June 15 discussion will certainly be different, but equally enjoyable and challenging. Meeting ID: 836 9570 2483 Passcode: 666666 or https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83695702483?pwd=YXZwdFdaRjF2OUpjd0plY2FPR08xUT09
